How can I counteract the too strong taste of scallion in a dip made with cream cheese, red peppers & mayo?

I should have waited to put the scallions in at the last minute, but I mixed them in ahead of time and now the whole dip in taken over by scallion (kind of a sharp taste).

try adding a little more cream cheese and mayo to it

soak the scallions in buttermilk for a few hours before preparing.

Try grilling the onions first. It brings out the sweetness of the onion and retards the harshness.

You can cut the taste of the scallion by adding more of the other ingrediants…. or you can try some sour cream or plain yogurt, either will maintain the integrity of the dip consistancy and would compliment the other ingrediants.

    More cream cheese

I would either use less scallions ,green part only, or use shjallots instead.

    try adding some lemon zest.
you can use either fresh or air dried.
