I planted regular white onion sets about 6 weeks ago. When will they be ready to harvest?
Also, are the stems scallions? Can I cut them before the onion is ready? The stems are flopping over a little.

I meant grow so you can eat them. The green onions you just snipe off the top and eat them.
Sprouts were a good idea!

I planted ~10 seeds of green onions in a pot. They sprouted high (~2-3 inches) but remained very thin. As a result, they are not standing up. Why?

Ok, so my mom put an old onion in a plastic bag, and sealed it, and put it in the fridge. After a few weeks, we checked on it, and it actually grew scallions!!!!!
